Sevenseven.com started as a single project site in early 1997. Since that time various projects have been proposed to expand the site. Increasingly sevenseven.com is housing mini-sites for individual artists, artists who have points of contact with the original seven members in the 'real world'. As this has happened, the connections we so explicitly played with in the original project have become more implicit, a subtlety that has become arguably more interesting as time has passed.
In the Exhibitions section is archived the original 'Among Ourselves' project of sevenseven. This is vintage Netscape 2.0 - atari-like in its early html. Also posted is the epic "Beautiful Things" project, an homage to the poetics of Quake.
If this is your first visit, please explore "Among Ourselves," or sevenseven 1.0 as we have come to call it. Also be sure to peruse the wealth of information on our artists, a list that is expanding in all directions. While this site is no longer being officially updated, the artists themselves continue to update and add to their sites, so do come again! |
